Taste Thubougouli (Sydney Harbour) with Hayden Quinn

Cook, author, presenter and MasterChef Australia contestant Hayden Quinn delves into Sydney’s incredible restaurants, rich culture and natural beauty for season four of Taste of Australia with Hayden Quinn – Sydney Edition. This week he explores Thubougouli, the Aboriginal word for Sydney Harbour.

"Sydney Harbour Bridge is behind me. I can see Centrepoint Tower. We are in the city of Sydney!” says Hayden, as he explores the Sydney Harbour foreshore and embarks on a cultural tour.

Sydney is a city of icons and Hayden heads to one of the most globally recognisable spots – Sydney Harbour – where he soaks up the view. He meets another Sydney legend – Djunghutti Djirinjah Elder Aunty Margret Campbell and founder of Dreamtime Southern X.

Aunty Margret takes Hayden on her immersive The Rocks Aboriginal Dreaming Tour. “When you think about it, it’s so obvious that you would identify with what’s around you,” says Hayden.

As they stroll through the Sydney Harbour foreshore, Aunty Margret explains her People’s connection to place; that if you are born here, you are known forever as saltwater people and sandstone people, and you learn about your natural environment every day.

"We are in a carpark growing herbs and produce,” says Hayden, as he tastes fresh microgreens at Urban Green Sydney with founder and farmer, Noah Verin.
