Spring Racing Carnival

And they’re off!

A day at the races is a Sydney tradition. There are major racing carnivals held in Spring and Autumn, as well as special race days throughout the year. The horses might be the main attraction, but you’ll also find fashion, food, entertainment and much more off the track.

The Everest Carnival in Spring kicks off on September 21 for seven weeks of racing at Royal Randwick and Rosehill Gardens. The highlight is The Everest, the world’s richest turf race with a prize pool of $14 million. Book ahead as the day generally sells out.

Eat & Drink

It’s a delicious day out at the races. There are six bars trackside at Royal Randwick, food trucks and even a Moët & Chandon vending machine. At both Randwick and Rosehill Gardens you can book tickets for one of the restaurants or dining areas and there are gourmet picnic hampers available for lunch on the grass.
