Friends enjoying Chinese cuisine at the Teahouse lounge bar in Crown Sydney, Barangaroo
Barangaroo is buzzing with places to eat and drink, from cute cafes and elegant wine bars to sprawling restaurants and cosier venues. You'll find most of them along Wulugul Walk – this charming waterfront promenade spans 170 metres and is named after the local Aboriginal word for kingfish. There's also the added attraction of being by the water and a stone's throw from the heart of Sydney.
You can eat your way around the world at Barangaroo. Zushi creates modern Japanese dishes while Ume Burger is a Japanese burger mash up. The beautifully designed tri-level Barangaroo House, a charcoaled timber-clad curved building, offers two options for drinks. House Bar is the relaxed, ground-level bar that spills out onto a beer garden, while Smoke is the rooftop bar with fantastic views.
Untied is Barangaroo's other rooftop bar. With a more casual vibe than Smoke, it dishes up fresh cocktails alongside modern Australian fare.
Chi by Lotus has Chinese-inspired cocktails and Shirt Bar is a small bar that does double-duty, serving up whiskey as well as tailored shirts, so order a nip and then get shopping.
At Crown Sydney, Teahouse is a bold and playful take on a traditional Chinese teahouse, serving cocktails and a selection of Asian accented nibbles.
