A favourite past time of Sydneysiders and visitors alike is spending time at the beach. Bondi Beach is one of Australia’s most famous beaches and is a great destination for people watching, surfing, and swimming.
Bondi has a special vibe all its own. It is a modern and trendy coastal suburb recognized by its great sandy beach, and surfing is one of the main activities that people enjoy in Bondi and taking a surf lesson is one of the quintessential things to do Think about it, what better place to learn to surf than on the world-famous Bondi Beach?
Lessons are available for all skill levels, from advanced to first-timers. The instructors are always friendly and provide a lot of encouragement. I can still remember the first time I stood up on my board and caught my first wave, it was exhilarating! And something I will not soon forget.
If surfing isn’t for you, there are plenty of things to fill your day at the beach. Relax in the sun, splash in the water, but look out for the red and yellow caps of the surf lifesavers and make sure you swim between the flags. Walk along the stunning cliffs that overlook the ocean or stroll the walkways across the road from the beach until you find an interesting shop to drop into or a café to have a bite to eat.
If you’re visiting Sydney in November don’t miss the Sculpture by the Sea The event is staged along Bondi to Tamarama coastal walk and has over 100 works by artists from Australia and around the world. The event takes place 3 November to 20 November, 2011.
After a day of sun, sand and salt water, enjoy the unforgettable sunsets…simply amazing!
