I first fell in love with Sydney back in 2006, the year I studied abroad at Sydney Uni. Nine years later, I left my cushy New York City life behind and returned to Australia as a backpacker on the work and holiday visa. I kicked my year Down Under off with a few months in my beloved Sydney, revisiting my old stomping grounds in the inner west suburbs of Newtown and Glebe, and walking around Sydney Harbour admiring the skyline from all possible angles. This time around, I based myself in Bondi and spent much of my time exploring the eastern suburbs and their glorious harbour beaches.
I’ve been documenting my travels around Australia and beyond on my travel blog; Frugal Frolicker, where I focus on affordable outdoor travel adventures. From myriad Sydney Harbour walks, to cross-country road trips, to epic mountain treks, I aim to showcase the natural beauty around Australia and the rest of the world that can be enjoyed on a shoestring. I firmly believe that you don’t need much money to see the world – all you need is a zest for adventure and loads of creativity.
