The Rocks

The oldest area of Sydney, boasting enormous historical significance and at the same time a spectacular hub of cafes, restaurants and nightlife, the Rocks is must-see for any visitor to Syndey.
Nestled beneath the Harbour Bridge, the Rocks has retained it colonial heritage whilst being infused with a modern exuberance which sees its rocking on any Saturday night.

There are many popular attractions, ranging from the Museum of Contemporary Art to the vibrant and eclectic Rocks Market, which operates every weekend, and the Discovery Museum, which traces local history from the time of the original Aboriginal inhabitants to the present day.

Strolling about the beautiful streets and back lanes, you will come across many different options for eating and drinking. And if you fancy a brew, pop into any number of historical watering-holes in the area, including Sydney’s oldest surviving pub, The Lord Nelson, built in 1844.

With its rich history and exciting attractions, there’s plenty to be discovered in the Rocks.
