One of Sydney’s most famous stretches of sand, Palm Beach represents an idyllic getaway a mere one hour’s drive from the CBD.
It’s the northernmost of the city’s Northern Beaches, located on a spectacular peninsula that delivers tranquil waterways, classic Aussie surf, and lush, native bushland in equal measure.
The beach itself is a favourite for families and experienced board-riders a like. Offering the quintessential Aussie sun n’ surf experience, with fantastic waves and crystalline sands, it’s the long-running location for filming on the long-running “Home and Away” TV series. For those with younger children, you’ll find a more protected section at the southern end, including a 35-metre ocean pool.
At the northern end, you can hike from the beach up to the historic Barranjoey Lighthouse, where you’ll be rewarded with epic views of the Central Coast and Pacific Ocean. On the western side, the calm beauty of Pittwater, with its perfect sailing conditions, awaits.
With boutique accommodation available, a selection of superb cafes and restaurants, this is the crowning glory of Sydney’s famed series of beaches, perfectly positioned just beyond the hustle of the city.
