Locals and visitors to Sydney alike will find plenty to like about the Pyrmont Markets this winter thanks to the return of The Proof is in the Pudding on the first Saturdays of July and August.
This fun breakfast event has plenty of foodie appeal – and if you’re particularly keen on long and luxurious breakfasts, this is the perfect thing for you.
The Proof is in the Pudding is a collaboration between Dessertmakers and Pepe Saya and during the months of July and August, you’ll have the chance to indulge in some of their fabulous creations at the Pyrmont Growers’ Markets.
The stunning range of crumbles and puddings from Dessertmakers is complemented with Pepe’s range of toppings – vanilla pouring pustard, marscapone and Pepe Saya chantilly cream to name just a few. On the first Saturdays in July and August, you might also be lucky enough to sample Merna’s truffle-infused rice pudding, which is topped with marscapone and truffle shavings courtesy of Duncan Garvey of Perigord Truffles of Tasmania.
Once you have warmed up from breakfast, it’s time to explore the markets! The Pyrmont Growers’ Markets is one of many exceptional farmers’ markets in and around Sydney and is held on the first Saturday of each month throughout the year.
This is the perfect place to shop for fresh produce, unique ingredients and maybe even a unique gift or great souvenir from your travels.
Pyrmont boasts a beautiful harbourside location and is also home to the Sydney Fish Market – another great attraction offering fun for the whole family. As the largest working fish market of its type in the southern hemisphere – and the world’s second-largest seafood market in terms of variety outside of Japan – this is a great place to enjoy a fresh lunch or pick up some seafood to prepare at home.
