Gowings Bar & Grill, the department store turned European brasserie, will host a decadent three-course lunch this Christmas. To start, whet your appetite with foie gras and truffle puffs accompanied by a glass of Perrier-Jouët Champagne. Guests can then enjoy an extravagant seafood platter followed by their choice of main course; this includes options such as wood-roasted suckling pork belly filled with malt bread, sage and parmesan, sweet and sour yellow peppers and cumquats, pinenuts, currants, and 30-year-old balsamic butter. The little ones will be fully catered for with a special children’s menu, so everyone can indulge at Gowings this Christmas.

Head to BLACK Bar & Grill, located within The Star, for a fine-dining experience this Christmas. The Christmas menu, prepared by executive chef Dany Karam and his team, is a five-course feast with all the trimmings. Try exotic entrees such as spanner crab salad with avocado and salted peanut caramel, or classic mains such as grain-fed angus striploin with smoked potato, asparagus, yorkshire pudding and foie gras. With a chocolate delice with amaretto custard, cherry, and gingerbread crumble for dessert, BLACK Bar & Grill’s Christmas menu is sure to be a crowd-pleaser.

Enjoy your Christmas lunch alongside 360-degree views from one of Sydney’s best vantage points. Guests at 360 Bar and Dining will receive a glass of sparkling wine and an amuse-bouche, followed by a three-course menu and petit fours. Choose from a range of delectable main courses, such as crispy-skin kurobuta pork belly with roasted peach, broccolini and almond, or a more traditional roasted turkey breast with cranberry and pistachio stuffing, kale and roasted carrots. On Christmas Day, the restaurant will host a lunch buffet and a dinner buffet, as well as a smaller lunch buffet on the rooftop. These sittings will feature a wide range of Christmas favourites, including fresh tiger prawns, smoked salmon, cured meats, a salad station, roast turkey, sweet merlot-glazed leg ham, eggnog crème brûlée, and warm plum pudding with butterscotch sauce. Those looking to indulge even more can also add a premium beverage package to their lunch plans.

Head to Sir Stamford at Circular Quay to celebrate Christmas in the traditional Australian way—with lots of delicious seafood. Sample entrees such as seared ruby tuna with heirloom tomatoes, black olives, Greek basil and smoked tomato sorbet, and choose from main courses such as Ruby Rose scotch fillet with king brown mushrooms, charred baby summer onions and asparagus tips. Located within Parkroyal Hotel at Darling Harbour, BARKERS Restaurant is pulling out all the stops this Christmas. Guests will receive a complimentary cocktail on arrival and can indulge in a gourmet seafood buffet from 12:30pm to 3:00pm. Adults will also be treated to a three-hour beverage package while children aged 12 and under will receive a free gift from Santa. With live music and a Christmas photo booth adding to the festivities, Christmas at BARKERS Restaurant will be a very merry event indeed.

This iconic seafood restaurant, right on the water at Woolloomooloo Wharf, has long been appreciated for its sophisticated ambience. Enjoy beautiful views across the Marina to the Botanic Gardens and the city skyline while sampling some of Australia’s finest seafood. This year, the Christmas Day menu comes courtesy of Executive Chef Daniel Hughes and Head Chef Steve Hetherington. Treat your tastebuds to a salad of warmed figs and jamon iberico with goats curd, hazelnuts, balsamic and wild rocket, or try the blue swimmer crab lasagne with Moreton Bay bug and crab bisque sauce. Located within Pier One Sydney Harbour, The Gantry Restaurant & Bar is another stunning venue for a Christmas Day lunch. This year, guests can enjoy a five-course degustation crafted by Executive Chef Joel Bickford. Set against the scenic backdrop of Sydney Harbour, each dish will also be accompanied by an expertly matched wine to provide the perfect experience for your Christmas Day lunch. All dietary requirements can be accommodated for, however bookings are essential.

Enjoy a sumptuous Christmas meal overlooking The Domain’s 34 hectares of greenery. Head to The Pavilion Restaurant this Christmas for the chance to enjoy a three-course meal from some award-winning chefs. Try the entree of San Daniele prosciutto with buffalo mozzarella, yellow nectarine, basil and 10-year-old balsamic. Choices of mains include free-range porchetta and jus with a sage, chestnut and apricot stuffing and cauliflower puree, as well as barramundi with citrus and fennel salad and a champagne butter sauce. Diners can choose between two sittings (11.30am – 2.30pm or 3pm – 6pm), with an extra-festive guest rumoured to be visiting both events.
