Featured Photographer – Dr. Ruth Collins

4 June 2018

My passion for photography has really taken off over the last 12 months. It started as an excuse to get outdoors and explore more of Sydney but has been a great way to counteract the stress of my work as a surgeon.

Because of my work commitments most of my photos are taken either early in the morning or late afternoon, which does mean I get to capture the beautiful light of sunrise and sunset fairly regularly.

I usually photograph a mixture of harbour, city and beach shots and try to choose a variety of locations. However, I keep getting drawn back to the Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Harbour which are just magical to photograph at any time of the day and in any weather. I am also trying to get to all the Sydney beaches at sunrise which is taking a while and is a work in progress!
