Dust off your lederhosen and your dirndl and get ready for a month of fun as Sydney salutes the world’s biggest beer festival: Oktoberfest. From delicious beers to sausage eating contests and live music, Sydney’s kegs are tapped and ready for a range of October festivities.

The home of all things Bavarian, Bavarian Bier Cafe will play host to a number of beer events for their Oktoberfest On Tap celebrations. Sample four delicious beers imported specially from Bavaria, including fresh brews from Paulaner and Lowenbrau. On 15 October they will also host their annual Sausage Eating Contest with the guys from Munich Brauhaus, with the winner picking up a cool $500 bar tab. The competition will be held simultaneously across their Parramatta, Miranda, Chatswood and Manly locations.
Join in the Oktoberfest festivities and head to Munich Brauhaus for six weeks of steins and surprises! This popular Rocks haunt will be hosting a range of events to celebrate the beer festival, including pork knuckle eating competitions, beer activities, entertainment and more. The bar will also be pouring four beers imported specifically for the festival, as well as offering a new house beer every five days.
Get your beer paddle at the ready as the first annual OktoberWest festival comes to Sydney. This new Inner West beer fest will mark the official launch of the Inner West Brewery Association with a lineup of brews from seven of Sydney’s best breweries. Enjoy an eclectic range of live music and artists across multiple stages as The Factory Theatre transforms into a prost-worthy beer garden and beer hall. Live acts include The Bottlers, DJ Albo and a special Kraftwerk DJ set from Donny Benét.
This year, Inner West brewery Wayward Brewing Co will celebrate its second birthday with a rollicking Oktoberfest bash. Head to the cellar bar in Camperdown to indulge in traditional German food and get your hands on a few special release Oktoberfest beers brewed especially for the event. You can also enjoy live oom-pah-pah bands, laneway parties and free cake over the three-day celebration. The festivities also coincide with Sydney Beer Week, a festival celebrating the best craft beer in Sydney.
Head to The Domain for a day to remember at Australia’s biggest Oktoberfest celebration! Sample a smorgasbord of tasty German treats from nearby food stalls and enjoy your beer en masse in two huge big top beer halls. As well as specially imported German beer, cider and wine, there will also be a wide range of live acts, entertainment, competitions, fun sideshow alleys and roving performers to get you in the mood to celebrate!
