Top Gear Festival Sydney - March

Top Gear Festival Sydney at Sydney Motorsport Park on 8-9 March

UK Top Gear 2014

UK Top Gear show hosts Jeremy Clarkson and James will be at Top Gear Festival Sydney

Top Gear Festival Sydney will race around the tracks of Sydney Motorsport Park on the weekend of 8-9 March, 2014, for two days of all things cars and racing.

The festival will be hosted by Top Gear UK show hosts Jeremy Clarkson and James May as well as the Stig. Fans can expect all the general mayhem and madness synonymous with the Top Gear presenters.

One of Clarkson and May’s most madcap stunts to date, Car Bungee, will be free-falling into the festival – you’ll have to see it to believe it. Plummeting at a speed faster than a Formula One racing car, a Nissan Micra and brave celebrity passengers will be catapulted off a 73 metre high crane in this heart-stopping stunt being performed in Australia for the first time.

Adding to the chaos of the weekend will be F1 driver and racing legend Daniel Ricciardo, taking up the challenge of the Ultimate Speed Showdown. Featuring TeamF1, TeamSuperbike, Team V8, Team GT3, TeamWorldTimeAttack and TeamWRC, the battle will settle the age old argument about which racing machine is truly the greatest.

Other track highlights include the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge, the World Time Attack Challenge, drag racing, car drifting and motorbike stunt riding. Off the track, get up close and personal with the McLaren 650S Coupe, its first exclusive public appearance that will follow its global launch at the 84th International Geneva Motor Show. Taking design cues from the sell-out McLaren P1 and learning from the current 12C models, the McLaren 650S Coupe accelerates to 100km/h from rest in only 3.0 seconds.

From giant slides to zorb balls, bumper boats to rock climbing, entertainment and more, the Toyota Family Fun Zone has all the attractions to ensure visitors of any age are entertained. More family-friendly entertainment is on offer with BBC Knowledge’s Car Football tournament. Be amused as national teams compete in three-wheeled cars, Reliant Robins, to play a game of football with a giant, car-sized soccer ball. The title went to Australia last year – who will win in 2014?

No Top Gear event would be complete without a powerlap from the Stig. The name is synonymous with phrases like “some say he can smell corners” and when he hits the road in some of the world’s fastest performance vehicles, you’ll see why.

A range of ticket options are available from general admission to VIP, to the Ultimate Superfan suite. Select your level of petrol enthusiasm, get your tickets and race into Sydney Motorsport Park this weekend.
