In early 2016, The Vertical Project was created by airline pilots Aaron Philips and Tom Faunt as a way of documenting their travels, from above.
Every day, their career provides them with the unique opportunity to see Australia’s beauty from the sky which passengers don’t always get to see.
By starting The Vertical Project, Aaron and Tom have created a way to share what the world looks like to them through drone photography.
For work and pleasure (hello, travel perks!), they have been fortunate enough to travel to some of the world’s most exotic and beautiful destinations, capturing it all from above. They share their travels through Instagram, Facebook and their website.
Having both lived in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs, and Aaron being born and bred in Bondi, they both love shooting Sydney’s spectacular coastline from North Bondi to Clovelly. In particular, the Bondi Icebergs Pool always puts on a show, from turquoise summer days to white washed winters.
