Are you ready to paint the town … blue? Then make sure you’re in Sydney this August for the wildly popular Blue Man Group for two weeks of pure, unadulterated entertainment.
In case you’re new to the Blue Man Group, here’s what you need to know.
This talented troupe of performers was formed all the way back in 1987 by Chris Wink, Matt Goldman and Phil Stanton.
They became known for their ability to seamlessly combine experimental music (including a lot of percussion), side-splitting comedy and multimedia theatrics to create unique and truly unforgettable performances. And, of course, the fact that they’re blue.
All of the performances include a threesome known as the Blue Men, who wear bald caps and paint their faces blue.
When they’re not entertaining live audiences with their antics, the Blue Man Group spend their time recording music for films and appearing television shows.
You may have seen them on The Drew Carey Show, Scrubs and even Arrested Development.
The “blissful party atmosphere” of the Blue Man Group’s live events has often be attested to, so if you’re looking for a bit of fun in Sydney this August, you know what to do!
A quick glance at the Blue Man Group’s Facebook page shows just how well-known and revered they are.
The page is scattered with photographs of these guys posing with all manner of celebrities, from Anchorman’s David Koechner to Sydney’s own Ryan Kwanten, who stars in the HBO series True Blood.
So, if you head to one of the Blue Man Group’s shows, you may see some famous faces!
The Blue Man Group will be performing from Saturday 10 to Sunday 25 August at the Sydney Lyric Theatre.
This is located on Pirrama Road, Pyrmont, NSW.
