Vivid Sydney will be celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2018, bringing Sydney to life in a celebration of mesmerising light, sound, innovation and colour. There are many precincts to explore in the city where you can experience Vivid 2018 in all its glory, including Sydney Harbour, The Rocks, Darling Harbour, Kings Cross and many more.

Vivid Sydney is known for its spellbinding Vivid Light installations, and this year they will be celebrating with over 60 magical light and colour shows all across the city.
Don’t miss the Lighting of the Sails every night of the festival from 6:00 pm, as the iconic Sydney Opera House comes alive with stunning colour. Be sure to head to Darling Harbour between the 25 May and 15 June to experience another highlight in Fantastic Oceans. Watch on as luminescent creatures rise to the surface in an aura of light, lasers and water fountains to tell a story of the biodiversity living in our ocean depths. Or explore ANL design duo Lawrence Liang and Anson Li as they comment on human connection and social interaction in the digital age in their light installation Closer.
For an illuminating family night out, head to the Royal Botanic Gardens Sydney to enjoy Aqueous, the interactive installation lighting up the garden paths. Light and colour will reflect and shift as the audience participants run and walk around the gardens. Once you’ve made your way through the gardens, take a trip around Circular Quay and into The Rocks and explore the Vivid Light Walk for a magical evening.
Over the years Vivid Sydney has expanded its Vivid Music programme to include a wide range of emerging artists and massive stars from home and away, and to celebrate the 10th anniversary – this year’s lineup has something for everyone. In 2018, Vivid is getting jazzy, with an incredible selection of energised local and international jazz artists excited to capture the hearts of Vivid-goers. Vivid Jazz welcomes the likes of the Branford Marsalis Quartet, international comedian, actor and artist Lea Delaria, and Jazz!Attack! by Nubya Garcia.

Revellers can also enjoy a programme of late-night Vivid music events, gigs and more! Be sure to get your Curve Ball ticket for Vivid Sydney 2018. The spectacular event marries light and sound in beautiful fashion and this year will be featuring acclaimed artists such as Vera Blue, Crooked Colours, Haiku Hands and Alison Wonderland.
Vivid Sydney’s Vivid Ideas programme has been known to spur innovation, design and ideas exchange in previous years, and 2018 is no different. For experience and events professionals, The Event Summit is a must-see event which includes formal and informal sessions with professionals from leading event and experience organisations within Australia and the US. The Summit is held on 14 June and concludes with networking drinks overlooking Sydney Harbour.
Head to the Museum of Contemporary Art this Vivid Sydney to get the FACTs – Female Ambitious Creatives in Tech.
