Infographic: Sydney Opera House Celebrates 40 Years

23 October 2013

It’s easy to look at the Sydney Opera House as a collection of accumulated figures, statistics and data. The world-famous theatre is home to 1 million roof tiles, two performance halls and 3,000 events per year.

Yet, this year, as this iconic structure marks its 40th anniversary, we’re proud to be celebrating something that transcends numbers and represents Australia on the world stage.

A spectacular concert this Sunday, October 27, commemorates the Opera House’s four decades in operation. A host of big Australian names including Baz Luhrman, John Butler and Megan Washington will help us celebrate the event, while HRH Crown Prince Frederik and HRH Crown Princess Mary will attend as patrons.

Even if you’ve grown up with the Sydney Opera House on your back doorstep, or even if you’ve visited dozens of times, there’s always something new to learn. That’s why, to celebrate the milestone, we’ve put together a fun infographic.
