Level up your Japanese cooking skills with Chef Mayumi in Sydney. In this fun class, you will learn how to make your own Japanese soba noodles from scratch, served in a tasty soup with assorted tempura. You will also enjoy a delicious matcha panna cotta for dessert!
Japanese food is all about freshness and quality, which has led to the popularity of this incredible cuisine in Australia. Under the guidance of qualified chef Mayumi, you will be able to emulate the flavours and techniques used in Japanese cooking to create your very own dishes.
Everything we will be cooking in the class:
- Soba noodles: traditional Japanese noodles made with flour, water and egg. This classic dish is a savoury mix of umami tastes including tender stewed pork belly, chopped green onion, and red pickled ginger.
- Tempura: a light golden batter that puffs up and gives texture and crunch to meats and vegetables.
- Japanese cucumber salad (Sunomono): marinated in vinegar, sugar, salt, and soy sauce, this sweet & sour cucumber salad makes a perfect side dish.
