American pianist Kenny Broberg is set to return to Australia for a special recital, presented by the Sydney International Piano Competition (The Sydney), at Verbrugghen Hall.
Broberg is an extraordinary young artist who, at the age of 25, already has an impressive number of awards under his belt. He was recently a grand finalist and was awarded Third Prize at the 2019 International Tchaikovsky Piano Competition in Moscow, which compliments his Silver Medal win at the 2017 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition and Fourth Prize at The Sydney in 2016.
Broberg’s performance in Sydney will feature a program including Bach’s Prelude and Fugue in A-flat Major, Beethoven’s Sonata No.31 in A-flat Major Op.110, Chopin’s Fantaisie in F minor Op.49, Franck’s Prélude, Fugue et Variation Op.18 (arranged for piano by Bauer), and Medtner’s Sonata in E minor Op.25 Night Wind.
Broberg commenced his piano studies at the age of six. Nine years later, he continued his studies at the Moores School of Music (University of Houston), where he completed his Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance. He is currently studying for a Master in Piano Performance at the International Centre for Music, Park University.
