Four years in the making, Crown Sydney has opened in the city’s tallest building. Labelled as a ‘six-star’ hotel, it lives up to the hype with 14 restaurants and bars, a luxe spa (complete with yoga and meditation terraces, infrared saunas and the Roman bathhouse-inspired Aqua Retreat) and an infinity pool lined by bookable cabanas (which comes decked out with a mini-bar, cheese platter, safe, lounge and flat-screen TV).

The glittering face is comprised of 8000 individually cut glass panels designed to reflect the Sydney Harbour. Inside, the 349 guest rooms include 327 rooms, 20 villas and two premium villas, as well as 82 permanent residences. The interior design is the work of internationally acclaimed firm Meyer Davis, and each room has spectacular views, deep baths and tablets to control everything from blinds to the lighting.

Among the restaurants to have already opened within the dining precinct are the Australian cooking-focused Woodcut, Italian fare by Alessandro Pavoni at A’Mare, Cantonese fare and yum cha at Silks and the first Sydney outpost of Japanese diner Nobu.
