Lunar New Year Celebrations
Overview
Chang Lai Yuan Chinese Gardens in Nurragingy Reserve will be adorned with colour as we prepare to ring in the Year of the Horse.
Decorated in the spirit of Lunar, the celebrations will feature a range of cultural activities and entertainment between 4 pm - 9.30 pm and conclude with a spectacular fireworks display including Chinese firecrackers.
The event will feature free workshops, activities and kids' rides!
Did you know? Lunar New Year marks the first new moon of the lunisolar calendar and hence, a New Year!
Chinese New Year is a holiday in which people honour household and heavenly deities, as well as their ancestors. More modern generations also see the holiday as a time for family to celebrate and come together.
It is a traditional holiday celebrated by many East Asian countries, including China and Vietnam, where families come together and celebrate new beginnings.
