Wilberforce Park

Overview

Wilberforce Park is a place of State heritage significance in the Hawkesbury as it is a wonderful surviving example of the Great Squares that were created in Australia 200 years ago.

When you are in the area the park is the perfect place to stop, relax, enjoy a picnic and stretch your legs. The park has large leafy mature trees and you will find seating with covered shelters and there is also a children’s playground. Parking is available on the road that surrounds the park. The local shops are close by if you need to buy anything for your break.

Another feature for history buffs is the location of the park as it is adjacent to historic Macquarie Schoolhouse (1819) and the appealing St John's Anglican Church (1859).

The Park has a war memorial. Conflicts remembered at the site include the Great War from 1914-18 and also the Vietnam War.

You will find Wilberforce Park located on George Road at Wilberforce.
