Three Bay Challenge - Sydney's Most Scenic Biathlon
Sunday 10 November 2019
The annual Three Bay Challenge provides an exceptional opportunity to experience three picturesque Sydney harbour beaches - and raise money for a great charity, the Australian Rhino project.
The Three Bay Challenge is a three-stage biathlon where participants run and swim between three of Sydney's iconic harbour beaches:
Nielsen Park, Parsley Bay and Watsons Bay.
The three running legs total six kilometres, and 750 metres for the swim, making it suitable for both experienced athletes and fun-runners who just enjoy swimming and running in a stunning setting.
All funds raised are donated to the Australian Rhino Project, a conservation organisation that is currently working to expand the population of white rhinos in Australia and New Zealand to maintain a genetically diverse breeding crash that can act as an insurance population should the rhino become extinct in its African homeland.
The event is sponsored by Sydney Brewery and ends with a free beer and sausage sizzle at Watsons Bay Hotel. The first male and female to finish win accommodation prizes at the Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley, courtesy of hotel owner and participant in the event, Dr Jerry Schwartz.
