With a name meaning ‘grill’ in Turkish, it’s no surprise that Izgara serves up some seriously good meat. Cooked over coals in the middle of the dining room, the menu features top quality wagyu, rib eye on the bone and succulent lamb. The 35-seat restaurant is inspired by Turkish ocakbasi dining, where chefs cook in front of the diners and personally serve their food. Chefs have even come over from Turkey to help create an authentic experience.
There are Turkish small plates on the menu – like kibbeh (fried bulgur wheat balls), kopoglu (smoked eggplant dip) and imam bayildi (stuffed eggplant) – alongside local seafood, housemade bread and a few desserts. Cocktails also have a Turkish twist and there’s a generous wine list with over 250 bottles.
