Women have played a vital but sometimes hidden role in the development of the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney and their knowledge and use of plants.
To celebrate Mother’s Day, the volunteer guides will explore the role of women in the work and development of the botanic gardens and in the understanding of plants and plant uses. This walk will feature the stories of artists, scientists, gardeners, royalty and stars of stage and screen while visiting plants, sculptures and parts of the garden that help tell their stories.
After the walk a refreshing afternoon tea will be served on the Foundation & Friends Terrace.
