Shaped by the Sea
Sunday 28 May 2023 to Sunday 31 December 2023 (DAILY event)
Overview
Discover stories of deep time Australia
As an island nation, Australia has a unique relationship with the ocean. Over tens of thousands of years, the sea and it's inland waters have shaped this continent and sustained the many peoples who have lived here.
Shaped by the Sea tells the story of Australia’s maritime history and it's relationship with seas, rivers and waterways from the deep past.
From a dugong skeleton to digital installations, Shaped by the Sea shares thousands of objects and stories that circumnavigate the past.
You're invited to be immersed in displays of scientific specimens and learn from Aboriginal cultural practices in this free exhibition.
