What began as an underground venue one night a week to showcase the original work of contemporary musicians has grown into a permanent site that puts on shows six nights a week.

Venue 505 is still an artist-run performance space and keeps to its ethos of supporting local musicians, but it also attracts international artists on arena tours who want to connect with local musicians while in town.

Venue 505 has been crowned one of the top 150 jazz clubs in the world by US publication DownBeat Magazine. See for yourself at the weekly Jazz Jams and Games Night on Mondays, which combines jazz with board games, or midweek at the Blue Wednesday Jazz Lounge, both of which are free entry. As well as jazz, you’ll see everything from funk to folk-pop and flamenco.

Does not cater for people with access needs.
