A throwback to the glamour of mid-century New York and Parisian brasseries, Beckett’s is Glebe’s new neighbourhood local. A place to get a little dressed up, and a place of dining and drinking, where people talk to the sound of a tinkling piano. One restaurant, one menu, and two dining rooms.
Beckett’s restaurant and cocktail lounge in the former Darling Mills site on Glebe Point Road is breathing life back into the space with a menu of revived classics, diners can expect to see Schroeter’s famous vanilla lobster, strawberry foie gras and escargots en cocotte on the menu.
On the drinks front, the team has enlisted world-class bartender Charlie Ainsbury (Proof and Company) to create a classics-driven cocktail menu to sit alongside their sommelier’s award-winning curated elegant 300-plus wine list that features a mix of domestic and international wines.
The exclusive private wine cellar is a popular space for functions and private dinners.
Beckett’s is a siren call to those missing fine-stemmed glasses, clothed tables, and the old-fashioned elegance of leisurely, civilized dining.
