Dido and Aeneas
Friday 25 October 2019 to Saturday 26 October 2019 (DAILY event)
Dido, the Queen of Carthage, falls in love with Aeneas. The gods have other ideas: they doom the lovers. Dido, despairing, kills herself. Purcell’s classic chamber opera interpreted afresh with a youthful, queer, subverted lens.
The Other Theatre is a new and emerging theatre company founded and run by passionate young artists. They want to push boundaries and challenge their audience into having a uniquely theatrical experience. The Other Theatre has produced Shakespeare's Richard II, Mike Bartlett's Cock and is currently preparing its third production - the Australian premiere of Marius von Mayenburg's The Dog, The Night and the Knife.
