Sustainability Management Plan
Sustainability Management Plan
The FIFA Fan Festival™ is being delivered in line with international sustainability management principles. A specific Sustainability Management Plan for the event has been developed, which covers actions to reduce carbon emissions, minimise and recycle waste, efficiently manage water, and provide an inclusive, welcoming, safe and accessible experience for everyone. This includes excellent public transport links to access the site, a waste segregation system for recyclables and non-recyclables, and a food waste minimisation programme. The site has been designed to include accessible routes for people with disabilities or limited mobility, as well as wheelchair-accessible toilets, concession lines and areas to watch shows and matches. To protect the health of attendees, smoking is not permitted on site. Furthermore, human rights volunteers and anti-discrimination experts will be present on-site to learn about fan experiences and support an inclusive environment at the FIFA Fan Festival. In addition, anyone who wishes to report a human rights concern can do so anonymously and safely through the online FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023™ grievance platform.
