Front Edge: Australian Design

Powerhouse has commissioned more than 50 of Australia's most visionary contemporary designers to create and shape Powerhouse Parramatta – an unprecedented generational showcase of Australian design and innovation.

For 2 transformative days, audiences will experience the full spectrum of Australian design in a series of talks by designers at the forefront of Australian design practice, from architecture to interior design, product design, graphic design and design publishing.

Session 1 traverses Australian interiors, from the home to retail and civic spaces, exploring distinctive approaches to material, colour and craftsmanship alongside the evolution of collectible design.

Session 2 brings together 4 of Australia's most influential industrial designers to examine the unique spirit of Australian design.

Session 3 considers Australia's architectural significance in the global community and foregrounds First Nations-led approaches to landscape architecture and design.

Session 4 explores languages and legacy with a focus on design that resonates.
