Powerhouse Academy: Collection Custodians

In this hands-on STEM workshop, learners aged 9–12 will work collaboratively to design and pitch a bespoke security solution to the museum's security and collection management teams.

Participants will complete 3 micro:bit coding activities that can be implemented in the protection of the Powerhouse Collection, which holds more than half a million objects of national and international significance.

This workshop addresses a real world challenge faced by museums across the world — how to keep objects safe while also increasing public access to view and engage with history.
