Cabramatta is a multicultural suburb in Sydney’s southwest that has built a solid reputation for its authentic variety of Asian cuisine and exotic produce stores.

The centre of this cultural melting pot is Freedom Plaza, where locals and tourists alike gather to buy Thai herbs and Chinese groceries from an array of specialty produce shops and Asian butchers.

The best time to visit is during the Lunar New Year in January or February when the streets are awash with red decorations. Kids especially will love the majestic and exciting lion dances. In September the Cabramatta Moon Festival has the suburb filled with colour, activity and culinary delights.
