About accommodation in Sydney

Sydney Australia has a wide range of accommodation to suit all budgets and tastes. There are five star hotels by the harbour, budget hotels by the beach, boutique hotels in inner-city suburbs, budget backpacker hostels and self-contained apartments that come in all shapes and sizes. Surprisingly, you’ll also find a few resorts, plenty of bed and breakfasts, old-style, comfortable guesthouses, farm stays and budget self-contained accommodation close to the city centre.

Some of the great and more popular destinations to stay in Sydney are; Paddington, Surry Hills, Manly, Bondi Beach, Coogee and the Sydney CBD accommodation.  

 

Hotels in Sydney

You'll find the biggest and best global hotel brands in Sydney, many of them in fabulous harbourside locations.  There are several absolute five-star properties around The Rocks and Circular Quay with excellent restaurants, bars and five-star harbour and Sydney Opera House views.

If you’re a backpacker, you’ll find plenty of good accommodation where you can mix work, travel and play. Many backpacker hostels offer excellent facilities including free continental breakfasts, free wireless internet, air-conditioning, secure key card systems, lockers, lounge areas, and , if you’re really lucky, a rooftop terrace.

There are eight YHA hostels in Sydney at Bondi Beach in the east, Cronulla south Sydney, Collaroy and Pittwater in the north, and in the city at Central Station, Railway Square, Glebe and The Rocks.

Caravan and camping grounds

Affordable caravan, camping and cabins are available in and around Sydney.  You’ll find them to the north in Narrabeen and the Hawkesbury and west in Camden and the Nepean river.

Cockatoo Island in Sydney Harbour is the city’s only central camping ground, just eight minutes by river cat from Circular Quay in the centre of Sydney.
