Discover the delights of Paddington, from designer boutiques to the iconic Paddington Markets, wonderful galleries and beautifully restored heritage pubs. Sophisticated and creative, this inner Sydney neighbourhood is where style meets taste, with the enticing Intersection and a delicious range of restaurants and cafes.

Oxford Street is a great place to start. You’ll find stylish boutiques, great pubs, delightful cafes, and the Chauvel Cinema’s old world charm in heritage-listed Paddington Town Hall, built in 1891. Across the road is the Magician’s Cabaret, where dinner is accompanied by dance, song and magic tricks.

William Street, Paddington

The famous Sydney Cricket Ground is a short walk south from the Town Hall. A stroll east along Oxford Street is the Paddington Markets, which began in 1973. Shoppers flock to this Saturday market that helped launch Dinosaur Designs and fashion luminaries Sass & Bide and Zimmerman.

William Street, off Oxford Street, is home to an eclectic range of boutiques in lovely 19th century terrace houses and the wine bar 10 William. Browse the elegant designs in Sonya Hopkins, try on fine hats at Neil Grigg Millinery, and indulge your sweet tooth at moreish Just Williams Chocolates.

The Lord Dudley, Paddington

The charming Five Ways is a stroll away, where city vistas await from the Royal Hotel Paddington’s rooftop. In other leafy streets are some of Sydney’s best art galleries, including Global Gallery and the Sherman Contemporary Art Foundation. In neighbouring Woollahra is the Olsen Irwin Gallery.

On the Woollahra end of Oxford Street is the Light Brigade Hotel, an art deco pub, and the Wine Library, a cosy wine bar. Queen Street in Woollahra is dotted with more enticing boutiques, provedores, cafes and restaurants. The classic Bistro Moncur is in the art deco Woollahra Hotel.
