Bare Island - La Perouse
In 1885 concerned British colonists thought an invasion from Russians was imminent. Bare Island Fort was built to protect "Sydney's back door"- Botany Bay - thus settling the minds of the early settlers.

On Sundays The Bare Island Fort is open for guided tours. Tickets can be purchased prior to the tour from the La Perouse Museum. Bookings are essential. For group bookings over 20 people, please contact the National Parks and Wildlife Service.
There are parking and picnic areas on the mainland at La Perouse monuments. Wedding ceremonies are also permitted on site. Additional fees and conditions apply.
Opening times
Entry by tour only. Tours operate 1.30pm, 2.30pm and 3.30pm Sunday. Meet at the La Perouse Museum 15 minutes prior to tour time
