Family day out in Sydney's east

Using public transport to get to Sydney’s eastern suburbs won’t limit your choices of things to do. Use the Family Funday Sunday ticket for just $2.50 per person to enjoy a fun day out with unlimited travel on Sydney's buses, trains, ferries and light rail every Sunday.

Head to Bondi Junction from the city centre and, if you’re travelling with young teenagers, be prepared to spend some time checking out the very cool shops at Westfield Bondi Junction.

From there you can head in all directions. If you want to take the kids to the beach, Bondi, Bronte and Clovelly are all great beaches with pools and picnic areas. Fancy introducing the kids to horse riding? Take advantage of the proximity to the city centre of Centennial Parklands Equestrian Centre which has a range of pony rides for young children. It’s also perfect for picnics, walks and feeding ducks at the duck pond.

Watsons Bay is a stunning picnic spot overlooking the harbour. Go for a walk, have fish’n chips on the harbour beach and then head back to Circular Quay by ferry.
