Kings Cross and Woolloomooloo
Must do
Eating and drinking in King’s Cross
Kings Cross’s neon strip is heaving at all hours with cheap pizza and dodgy kebab joints – but side-step the strip club touts and hens party throngs to delve deeper. You’ll be rewarded by the precinct’s hip bars, rooftop pubs, excellent restaurants and happening clubs.
About Kings Cross and Woolloomooloo
Kings Cross is one of Australia's best-known entertainment precincts. It buzzes with nightclubs, live music and cool bars. After dark, a never-ending procession of revellers hit Darlinghurst Road, while others head to streets around Macleay Street in Potts Point and around Woolloomooloo.
During the day, "The Cross" has a relaxing, leafy atmosphere where you can discover small art galleries, design shops and beautiful florists. You can get a new tattoo, cool second-hand clothes or fresh organic produce from weekly markets. Elizabeth Bay House is a beautiful historic home overlooking Sydney Harbour. Step inside to admire the colonial architecture.
