As the Museum closes its doors, the magic begins. After hours, their waterfront comes alive with very special guests - mermaids. Families can explore The Beach at night, meet the mermaids up close, and dive into creative art and science activities, dress-ups, and shimmering face and body art in a truly unforgettable after-dark experience.

Meet five enchanting mermaids, each with their own whimsical personality — from glamorous singing sirens to curious ocean scientists sharing songs, stories and playful ocean experiments with children.

This is a limited-capacity, ticketed after-hours experience, designed especially for families and primary-school-aged children looking for a magical evening event during the school holidays. Standard museum tickets do not apply.

Each session includes: performances and interactive opportunities with each mermaid, free time in their Beach installation, creative art and science activities, dress ups, face sparkles and body art!

Your entry to each session gives you exclusive after hours access to the museum galleries and the Beach exhibition.

This interactive performance is presented in collaboration with Beeswax and Bottlecaps an independent production house, specializing in circus, vaudeville, and variety. Beeswax and Bottlecaps create innovative, high-energy performances that blend theatrical storytelling with spectacle.
