Teeing off in Sydney

Sydney golfers are spoiled when it comes to playing their favourite game. Will it be on a course by the coast or surrounded by bushland? Traditional links-style course or a green-groomed wonderland designed by one of the greats of the game? If you’re visiting Sydney and you’d like to travel with the local experts, Sydney Golf Australia provides golf day tours and access to some of the top courses and private golf clubs in Sydney and its surrounds. Visitors are welcome at many of Sydney’s best golf courses. The Bondi Golf Club is a 9-hole course which features spectacular views of Australia’s most famous beach. Moore Park Golf is part of the extensive Centennial Parklands, just minutes from the heart of the city.
Eastlake Golf Club is also an 18-hole course with spectacular views of the Sydney skyline and the surrounding lakes of the Botany Wetlands. With the airport and the CBD less than 10 minutes away it is ideally located for visitors who enjoy a game of first-class golf. The Coast Golf and Recreation Club at Little Bay is an 18-hole, Top 100 golf course situated along the rugged and beautiful southern Sydney coastline. Enjoy a challenging round of golf with an amazing backdrop of unobstructed ocean views.
To the north of the city, Long Reef Golf Club is an 18-hole, Top 100 golf course located just 20 km from the city centre. With unsurpassed views along the coast, the course has been described as “the best site of any golf course in Sydney”. Palm Beach Golf Club, also located on the beautiful northern beaches, nestled between Pittwater and Palm Beach, is a popular destination for visitors.
Several championship courses can be found within a short drive of the city centre. Riverside Oaks is an 18-hole, par 72 championship course that’s rated amongst the top courses in Australia. Immaculate presentation, expansive greens and world-class facilities provides one of Sydney’s finest resort courses in a natural bush setting. Camden Lakeside is an 18-hole, Top 100 golf course which is rated 74 by the AGU. It’s also listed in the top ten (N.S.W.) courses. Camden Golf Club, Camden valley Golf Resort and Antill Park Country Golf Club at Picton are also fine courses where visitors are welcome.
Golf near Sydney

Just a few hours' drive from Sydney are some excellent golf courses in regional NSW. If you’re partial to a chilled glass of wine at the end of a game, the Hunter Valley has several championship courses with picturesque scenery, excellent food, wine and accommodation. The Katoomba Golf Club and the Leura Golf Club in the Blue Mountains provide a great day on the green combined with breathtaking scenery and a range of other recreational activities.

Sydney's Royal Botanic Gardens, an oasis of 30 hectares in the heart of the city, occupies one of the city's most prominent positions next to the Opera House on the harbour. It's a place where locals and tourists retreat for peace, relaxation, education and learning about horticulture. Aboriginal Heritage Tours of the Royal Botanic Gardens operate at 10am on Fridays and free guided walks kick off daily at 10.30am from the Garden shop.
The harbour foreshores and islands are accessible places of secrets and mystery.Strike out by ferry or on foot to discover these parkland treasures. Pyrmont Point Park, located at the end of Pirrama Road, offers expansive water views. The award-winning sustainable design has a fantastic kids playground with water play features. Starting from Bicentennial Park and weaving around to the Sydney Fish Markets at Pyrmont, the Glebe Foreshore Walk links over 27 hectares of open space and gives visitors unimpeded public access to Rozelle Bay and Blackwattle Bay.
Australia's oldest park, Hyde Park, contains 580 mature and exotic trees, and is home to the ANZAC Memorial building. Further afield, the 640 hectare Sydney Olympic Park site along the Parramatta River centres around Lake Belvedere and Bicentennial Park is a wetland ecosystem, perfect for cyclists, joggers, dog walkers and picnickers. Centennial Parklands covers more than 360 hectares and is one of the few parks in the world to offer inner-city horse riding.
