Find your own piece of Sydney’s unique style in the flagship boutiques of Australia’s best local designers. If you love designer shopping, head over to Surry Hills, Darlinghurst, Paddington, Bondi, Newtown or the city centre for fabulous one-off clothing, shoes and accessories. Major department stores, David Jones and Myer, stock the best Australian brands including up-and-coming names.

At David Jones, you'll find Dion Lee, Collette Dinnigan and Josh Goot amongst others while Myer stocks Jayson Brunsdon, Maticevski amd Nicola Finetti. At 100 Squared in Westfield Sydney, eleven emerging designers have been plucked from various market stalls and housed under one roof in a 100 metre square cube. 

The Corner Shop in the Strand Arcade and in Paddington has a fabulous collection of coveted local labels. McLean & Page in Manly offers some of the latest favourites, including Josh Goot, Therese Rawsthorne and Camilla & Marc. And fashionistas will love Incu in Paddington for their local mens’ and womens’ designer ranges as well as Romance Was Born and Friedrich Gray at Pretty Dog in Newtown.

World-famous Australian designers including sass & bide, as worn by Kate Moss and Sarah Jessica Parker, Lisa Ho, Zimmerman, Nicole Finetti and Leona Edmiston can be found at boutiques around the city. Up-and-coming local names to watch out for are Manning Cartell, Ellery, Dion Lee, Karla Spetic and Lover.  


Emerging designers at Sydney’s markets

Paddington Market has long been regarded as the place to launch a fashion career, and you’ll find fresh design talent here every Saturday. As well as fabulous fashion, you’ll find stylish ceramics, homewares, art and accessories – great for Christmas gift shopping.

Bondi  Market is well worth a browse on Sunday mornings, for summer-styled dresses, silky tops and one-off jewellery.

Quirky boutiques offer a hand-picked collection of local and international design. Some of the best include Bloodorange in Elizabeth Bay, Poepke in Paddington and Alfies Friend Rolf in Darlinghurst.

Located in the heart of the city, the Strand is a grand, late-19th century arcade packed with fashion labels, jewellery shops, eateries and more. Some of the Australian fashion brands you'll find are Akira, Alex Perry, Alannah Hill, Manning Cartell, Lisa Ho, Lover and sass & bide.

Sydney is indisputably a fashionista's dream, with a wealth of local designers opening boutique stores and market stalls to showcase their array of clothing, shoes and accessories. If you're shopping in Sydney for that unique, one-off item that will draw attention and envious glances on the street, you've come to the right city. Surry Hills, Darlinghurst, Paddington, Bondi, Newtown, and the CBD all boast designer shopping.

Sydney has a constant flow of emerging designers graduating from the country's most prestigious design schools. At 100 Squared at Westfield Sydney, eleven emerging designers have been plucked from various market stalls and housed under one roof in a 100 metre square cube. For up and coming fashion and designers, this is your first stop.

Sydney has produced a stellar cast of fashion designers who continue to receive international acclaim. Sass & Bide's distinctive pieces are regularly seen on celebrities such as Kate Moss and Sarah Jessica Parker. Akira Isogawa's and Collette Dinnigan's exquisite designs are much sought after while Sydney designers, Lisa Ho, Zimmerman, Nicole Finetti and Leona Edmiston are stocked here and in serious shopping centres around the world. Head to the Strand Arcade in the city centre or top end of Oxford Street in Paddington to find these famous designers.
