I was born and grew up in a small settlement near Murmansk in Russia. Having always dreamed about living beside the ocean, in February 2010 I moved to Australia from St Petersburg where I had been working as a freelance photographer and visual effects artist for the last decade. My interest in art photography started developing when I was studying photographic chemistry and engineering at the University of Cinema and Television in St Petersburg in 1999. Having worked mostly with the film medium throughout my study years I quickly became fascinated and inspired with the flexibility and power of digital manipulation when digital processes became widely available in early 2000. Interest in photography, cinematography and digital art led me to work as a visual effects artist for several years on various projects ranging from Hollywood features to commercials and independent films.

Not long after the relocation to Sydney I started a production company called Paksty Visuals with the goal to create outstanding promotional photography and video content for businesses. In the middle of 2012 I started shooting motion timelapses and I was one of the first people in Australia to develop motion timelapse technique that allows to do long distance camera moves for timelapse shots. When shooting I am always looking for the perfect lighting conditions and strive to capture the scene at the magic hours. I continue to capturing beautiful scenery, seascapes and cityscapes both in stills and motion as often as I have a spare moment.

Gorgeous selection of NSW images. Please to see a photographer not overdo the post production from a raw image. It is very fine and just right. The time lapses are stunning and make me yearn for the city.

  • krutto

Wonderful time lapses! Love the video{:-)

  • David

Beautiful pictures. The time-lapse videos must have taken many hours of careful planning and execution. The city looks so beautiful seen this way.

  • capocesare

Great to Sydney on this ‘time lapse’ way… great work mate!!

  • maz

Absolutely stunning video, Pavel. When are you going to do a time lapse video of melbourne – it’s a gorgeous city too. One of each state would be wonderful. Just gorgeous tks

    • Pavel Trotsenko

      hi Maz,
Thanks for your comment. I am hoping to produce a Melbourne video in the next couple of months.

      • SydneyistheBest

        Please don’t. Melbourne sucks.

      • LG

You should definitely go to the different state capitals, each city has its own unique feel. Your photos are beautiful & very atmospheric, but the time lapse are incredible, the day in Sydney really captures the feel of the city in a way nothing I’ve seen before has done.

never heard of Gostwyck – but those beautiful photos have provoked my interest – between Tamworth and Armidale ? lovely …

I just came from looking at a photo exhibit of Peru – several of them were like the SuperVivid setting on my Canon camera – I guess you didn’t use that – nice.

Gostwyck lies just off the New England Hwy eastwards from Uralla. And across that bridge featured lies a fabulous mid-later19th century shearing shed!

  • taz

It would look better if the pictures were natural and not enhanced though.

  • Prakash

Time lapse and Gatswyk bridge are amazing. The bridge landscape looks very natural

Pavel…The Sydney night video. was that time lapse video sped up?

    • Pavel Trotsenko

No It’s all time-lapse not a speeded up video. Some shots were shot at 3fps that’s why it looks like sped up video.

  • Ami

We went to sydney for the first time a month ago and watching the video makes us want to go back again -Beautiful Syney and video of course. Thank you Pavel.

    Trotsenko THE GREAT.

Beautiful images. Sadly I’m not creative. Doesn’t matter when one views this magnificence. I’m proudly Sydney.

all and good being creative – like Sydney city doesn’t get enough. Use the money spent on these extravaganzas and give it to the hard working services like our fearless fire fighters. Stop wasting money on short term “entertainment” to bring in the tourist dollar – instead SAVE LIVES.

Beautiful imagery, colour – and choice of places (including and beyond Sydney). I live a few minutes from Caves Beach – Gostwyck a special favourite place – and of course sunsets over Lake Macquarie from Swansea!

  • CAROLINE

The photographs of the waterfalls are stunning, especially the Ebor falls photo. Can you make it into a postcard please? Do you sell your photos through Shutterstock? I also love the country scenery having just moved to the New England Area from Sydney.

  • wayne

    sensational work

  • Jane Nicholas

    Love those Autumn shots.

  • norse of Melbourne
