Sundays in Sydney

Use the Family Funday Sunday pass to travel around Sydney with the whole family for just $2.50 per person. Make your way by train and bus to Featherdale Wildlife Park in Sydney’s west for a day of fun with kangaroos, wallabies, emus and koalas. Alternatively, take the kids by train to Cabramatta for a taste of delicious Vietnamese noodles, pho, and enjoy a day out in one of Sydney's most interesting multicultural neighbourhoods. 

Western Sydney day trips

For $2.50 per person, your family can enjoy a fun day out with unlimited travel on Sydney's buses, trains, ferries and light rail every Sunday. Why not take the kids west of the city, using your Family Funday Sunday pass. Start with the city of Parramatta, home to many fine heritage sites such as Old Government House and Elizabeth Farm, have a picnic at Parramatta Parklands or enjoy an alfresco meal.

There are many ways to travel to Parramatta. Take a 38-minute train from Sydney Central, or a 55-minute Rivercat journey along the Parramatta River from Circular Quay, or simply jump on the L20 bus in the city, which takes an hour.

A train trip to Cabramatta takes about an hour to get to one of Sydney’s most exciting food precincts. Stop for lunch in one of the 60+ bustling restaurants specialising in regional Vietnamese cuisine, take the ten-minute walk to Tien Hau and Kwan Zin Temples in neighbouring Canley Vale. To get there take the South, Bankstown or Cumberland lines from Central Station.

You’ll need more than one day to experience all that Sydney Olympic Park has on offer for families. Have fun with the interactive water cannons, super-sized aquatic animals and water slides at the indoor water playground at the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre. Check out Wentworth Common and other park playgrounds, hire a bike, play a round of mini golf or try your skills at the Monster Skate path. To get there, take a ferry from Circular Quay, or a train from Central Station, changing at Lidcombe.
