Bundeena is a small, friendly town located across the Port Hacking river from Cronulla, Sydney’s southernmost beach. It’s about an hour’s drive from the heart of Sydney, or you can catch the ferry from Cronulla. Popular activities here include kayaking, walks and hikes, and hanging out at the beach. There’s also a string of local events from markets to art fairs.
Bundeena is also conveniently placed at the edge of the Royal National Park, known for its bush, beaches and waterfalls, and home to the famous figure eight pools, a cluster of figure-eight-shaped rock pools formed by the tides. It’s also home to the popular Bonnie Vale, Wattamolla and Garie Beaches.
Cronulla events are plentiful and varied, from the fantastic beachside market held on the second Sunday of the month, to the surf comps and iron man and women events. You can also learn to surf, or spend the day by the beach.
