A World of Creative Sounds

Some of the world’s most creative musicians help transform Sydney into a winter wonderland for several weeks during this festival of light, music and ideas. Enjoy one-off music events and multi-genre shows as Sydney’s hippest clubs, labels and performance spaces ramp up the volume for Vivid Music.

Vivid Music has a past record of extraordinary participating artists. In 2016 Björk curate a music event at Carriageworks, where she premiered a virtual reality project that was divided into five spaces and accompanied by collaborations and some of the finest filmmakers and programmers in the world.

Björk- Vulnicura Live

An extraordinary line-up of musicians and artists also featured at Curve Ball, a large-scale installation comprising live music and art across two stages at Carriageworks.

At the Sydney Opera House, one of music’s singular innovators, Anohni, the former singer of Antony & the Johnsons, staged her fifth album in a sense-shifting performance featuring anthemic song writing, room-shaking bass, dance and audiovisual effects.

New Order - Music Complete

From their mythic rise out of Joy Division's tragic demise to becoming indie synth-pop legends, New Order celebrated 35 years with an Australian exclusive appearance at Vivid LIVE. Creating the blueprint for the likes of Radiohead and LCD Soundsystem, New Order returned in classic form with their critically acclaimed ‘Music Complete’.

Other smaller venues, such as The Argyle, The Basement and The Newtown Social Club, also featured an array of musical genres from R+B to house, retro revivial, rock, electronica and hip hop.
