From May to June Vivid Music hosts a lively and eclectic range of live performances and ground-breaking musical collaborations, from local to international acts. Around the city, including the spectacular harbourside precinct that’s home to the majestic Sydney Opera House, you’ll find venues large and small celebrating musical creativity during this winter festival of light, music and ideas.

A World of Creative Sounds

Expand your music horizon as hundreds of artists channel the unmistakable energy that is Vivid Music into 23 nights of cutting-edge experimentation, groundbreaking creative collaborations and popular gigs.

The 2017 Vivid Music program will once again feature an unrivalled line-up of international and local talent at key venues including the Sydney Opera House and Carriageworks. All of your favourite events including Heaps Gay, Soul of Sydney and Purple Sneakers also return in 2017.

Goldfrapp also features for Carriageworks along with the return of the night markets and sell-out events, Curve Ball featuring headliner SAFIA and Chef’s dining series.

There’s also plenty of new venues, emerging talent and collaborations joining this year’s program, including Metamorphosis at City Recital Hall, featuring indie band Dappled Cities, who headline with a show that fuses their classic rock soundscapes with an all-encompassing light-show.

Vivid Music is also proud to be partnering with the City of Sydney on X|CELERATE, a new program that invests in small bars, pubs and clubs to support and showcase grass-roots talent and celebrate bands and artists that will shake the foundations across Sydney’s favourite musical institutions, old and new.
