Getting to Darling Harbour

Step into an Australian animal adventure in the heart of the city at WILD LIFE Sydney in Darling Harbour. Darling Harbour is easy to get to by bus, monorail, ferry, light rail and, of course, on foot.

All roads, railway lines and waterways lead to Sydney. So jump on a bus, ferry, train or light-rail using the Family Funday Sunday pass and you’ll find getting to  Sydney’s top attractions a whole lot more affordable. Head into the city and take the kids exploring the maze of sandstone lanes and rock-hewn steps in the city’s historic Rocks and Walsh Bay area.

Jump on a ferry from Circular Quay to Darling Harbour. There’s always a lot going on with buskers entertaining the crowds, plenty of shops to browse and places to eat. Visit nearby SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium, featuring a number of habitats, 60 tanks and three oceanariums set in the heart of Sydney on Darling Harbour. On the north side of the harbour is Luna Park, accessible by ferry from Circular Quay.

Another great harbour attraction that you can only get to by ferry is Cockatoo Island. Ferries to Parramatta and Balmain stop at Cockatoo Island and takes about 15-20 minutes from Circular Quay. On Cockatoo, do the self-guided audio tour, take a picnic, the makings of a BBQ lunch (there are coin operated BBQs on site) or order from the Muster Station café.You can even play tennis on what’s arguably Sydney’s most spectacularly-sited tennis court or stay overnight in a luxury tent.
