Surry Hills Events

One of Sydney’s hippest suburbs, Surry Hills is an interesting and lively place to visit for work or leisure. This inner-city suburb is known for its trendy eateries, fashion warehouses, private exhibition spaces and low-key bars and pubs. Check out the range of happy hour deals that can be found at various establishments throughout Surry Hills — much to the delight of its significant nine-to-five population.

Surry Hills plays host to a number of interesting Sydney events throughout the year. Most notably, Surry Hills is home to a monthly market which specialises in handmade arts and crafts, second-hand clothing, recycled and refurbished goods, and more. Annual highlights include the Oxfam Trailwalker, a 100km team bushwalking challenge which raises funds for those facing poverty, and Social Media Week, part of a series of worldwide events, panels and discussions focusing on the current role — and future innovations — of social media. Each year the Surry Hills Festival takes over the streets, parks and laneways of the neighbourhood, celebrating with markets, music, and great food and drink.
