Hospitality group Merivale’s first takeaway joint is dedicated to chicken… no surprise given the name. Located next door to another Merivale establishment, The Paddington, The Chicken Shop is all about home-style cooking and juicy rotisserie chicken.
Given the limited menu, the hole-in-the-wall cuts no corners when it comes to quality, using only hormone-free, air-chilled Bannockburn chickens prepared by chef Ben Greeno (also of The Paddington). You can also pick up a range of daily changing salads and sides, like roast veggies, potato gratin or fries. Then there are the Brickfields sandwiches, including a classic ham-and-cheese with pickles, and fish fingers with edamame beans and yuzu. Fast, fresh and delicious.
