The Vanguard - Newtown

The Vanguard is an intimate live music venue, bar and restaurant with a 1920's feel to the interior, providing quality entertainment with elegant, stylish dining and a dynamic bar scene. It's played host musical greats like Elvis Costello, Steve Poltz and The Tea Party to Missy Higgins, Washington and Gotye, Ian Moss, Jimmy Barnes, Tex Perkins and Neil Finn to name a few. Cabaret is also a regular feature in their line up, along with their own original burlesque productions like Star Wars Burlesque and The Batman Follies of 1929. As the programming is so diverse the appeal is extremely universal, and they do their utmost to ensure that guests are made to feel welcome and well looked after.
