Inner Sydney Events

Inner Sydney is known for its hip bars, quality cafes, 19th century architecture and buzzing nightlife. There’s a packed events calendar that takes advantage of the unique neighbourhoods that encircle the city centre, with some of the top Sydney events taking place along its perimeter; most notably, the suburbs of Surry Hills, Newtown, Paddington and Balmain.

In inner Sydney, you can check out some of the city’s best weekend markets in Glebe, Paddington, Balmain and Redfern, see some of the city’s best performances in the local theatres of Surry Hills, Darlinghurst and Enmore, and see cutting-edge works at galleries in Paddington and Chippendale. The city fringe also boasts some of Sydney’s best pubs, where you have the chance to hear some great live music. Just a stone’s throw from the Sydney CBD, it’s easy to get to and from the events of the inner city with regular public transport.
