Dachshtober Longdog Festival aims to bring together owners of sausage dogs from all over the country and raise awareness and funds for the research of IVDD (Intervertebral Disc Disease) which is prevalent in the Dachshund breed.
The event welcomes visitors and businesses from the local community, the region, the state, and beyond. Meander through the market stalls with everything dog-centric.
Other entertainment includes the Longdog Dash and fancy dress competition and the doggie bar where your furry friends can have a bite to eat and a sip of something sweet. Take your furbaby to the pamper pooch parlour, where doggies can get their nails clipped, wash and blow dry. For owners, there will be food and drink on-site and face painting for the kids.
Importantly, there will also be leading vets and specialists who will host information sessions on the best ways to prevent IVDD, as well as notes on nutrition and behaviour for your beloved pooch.
